Do Japanese citizens need a visa to travel to Vietnam?
If you are a Japanese citizen, you do not currently need a visa to travel to Vietnam if you plan on staying for fewer than 15 days. It means that they are required to have a Vietnam visa to stay more 15 consecutive days in the country.

In order to apply for the Vietnam eVisa, Japanese nationals must meet the necessary requirements.
Firstly, the applicant must be from a country that is eligible for the eVisa for Vietnam.
All Japanese travelers submitting an online application must provide the following:
• A soft file of valid passport which is valid at least 6 months from the departure date to Vietnam
• A digital photo in JPEG, PNG format which is recently taken for the visa application. The photo should be in color and taken against the white background.
• Email address: this email is used to send a notice to applicant when the e-visa is successfully issued or denied
• Credit/debit card: it is used to make the payment for e-visa fee online
Processing steps:
• You complete the visa application form online and make the payment
• After 3-5 working days, you will go to check the email registered for e-visa application to receive and download your visa results
• You print out your visa and show it to the Vietnam Immigration Officer to enter Vietnam.
Japanese travelers must be aware that the information they provide on the Vietnam eVisa application form must be accurate and match the information shown on their Japanese passport.
After the application is processed, the approved Vietnam e-Visa is delivered to the email account provided. It is advisable to print a copy and bring it to Vietnam.
Visa on Arrival from Japan

To get visa on arrival at the Vietnam airport, Japanese travelers should have all documentation as listed as bellows:
