4. Visa Extension And Renewal Requirements
The requirements for extension and renewal will be different depending on the type of visa. Here are the requirements in details for tourist and business visa:
4.1 Tourist visa
– Your passport has to be valid at least 6 months since the time of renewal or extension
– There is at least 1 blank page on your passport for visa extension and 2 blank pages for visa renewal.
4.2 Business visa
– Passport validity and a number of blank pages are exactly same as the tourist visa.
– Applicants required to have a sponsor company who guarantee their stay in Vietnam.
– Applicants do not violate the Vietnamese law during staying Vietnam

5.1 Tourist visa
– Your physical passport and Vietnam vis are still valid.
5.2 Business visa
– Your physical passport and Vietnam vis are still valid.
– A notarized copy of sponsor’s business license
– A company’s introduction letter
– A completed NA5 form
– An explanation about the reason of visa extension or renewal
– Temporary residence paper issued by local police where it is registered.

There are three immigration offices located in Ha Noi, Ho Chi Minh and Da Nang. If you decided to extend or renew your visa on your own, you can visit the Immigration Office where you are staying as listed as follows:

– Immigration office in Da Nang: 78 Le Loi, Thach Thang, Hai Chau, Da Nang
– Immigration office in Ho Chi Minh City: 196 Nguyen Thi Minh Khai, Ward 6, District 3, Ho Chi Minh city
Their working time is from 8.00am – 11.30am in the morning and from 1.30pm – 5pm from Monday to Friday.

The fee of visa extension and renewal depends on the type of visa, your nationality and how fast you would like to get it extended or renewed.
9. Vietnam Visa Extension Or Renewal, Which One Is The Best?
Technically, there are not many differences between visa extension and renewal in terms of the procedures and requirements. However, if you wish to get a visa sticker on your passport without leaving Vietnam in the meanwhile, you can obtain a multiple entry, visa extension is the better option. As mentioned in the above section, the charges of visa renewal is always higher than visa extension, therefore, this factor should be considered when you decide which one is the best for you.
10. Temporary Residence Card Extension (TRC)
The validity of TRC is issued according to the duration of work permit. Then, before your TRC expires, make sure that you have to renew your work permit before applying for TRC extension. Along with a completed dossier for business visa extension as indicated above, you will also need to supply the following documents:
– A copy of valid work permit
– 02 photos (3x4cm)
– An employment termination letter is required if you shift into a new company
