Do Brunei citizens need a visa to enter Vietnam?

 Brunei passport holders do not need to obtain a Vietnam visa if they plan to stay in the country no more than 14 days. On the other hand, Brunei nationals who tend to stay in Vietnam for more than 14 days regardless of their travel purpose must apply for an Vietnam visa.

How to get Vietnam visa for Brunei citizens

In order to obtain a visa to Vietnam, there are 3 legitimate ways for Brunei citizens to get a Vietnam visa.

Vietnam E-visa

The Vietnamese government has offered e-visa for citizens from 80 countries including Brunei nationals. This type of visa is only applicable for those visiting Vietnam within 30 days on tourism purpose. Please kindly check the requirements and process to get Vietnam e-visa in the following sections.

E-visa documents required:

• A soft file of valid passport which is valid at least 6 months from the departure date to Vietnam

• A digital photo in JPEG, PNG format which is recently taken for the visa application. The photo should be in color and taken against the white background.

• Email address: this email is used to send a notice to applicant when the e-visa is successfully issued or denied

• Credit/debit card: it is used to make the payment for e-visa fee online

E-visa application process;

• You complete the visa application form online and make the payment

• After 3-5 working days, you will go to check the email registered for e-visa application to receive and download your visa results

• You print out your visa and show it to the Vietnam Immigration Officer to enter Vietnam.

Vietnam visa on arrival

Visa on arrival is a type of travel document that Brunei visitors can obtain a visa when they are reaching to Vietnam. To apply for this method, it’s compulsory to have a visa approval letter issued by the Vietnam Immigration Department before traveling to Vietnam. Upon their arrival, they just need to present the original passport, a copy of visa approval letter, Vietnamese visa application form, 02 passport sized photo and stamping fee to get visa stamp on their passport

Note:

• Currently, if Brunei citizens come to visit Vietnam within 30days (single entry) for tourism purpose, e-visa is the best option for them. The other types of tourist visa on arrival are not resumed yet.

• For business purpose, Brunei passport holders have to get a sponsor company in Vietnam to help them with a visa approval letter.

Vietnam visa at the Embassy

An embassy visa for Brunei passport holders is another kind of travel documents that must be obtained before departure from an embassy or consulate. It’s highly suggested for Brunei passport holders to get a visa at the Vietnamese embassy if they are entering Vietnam by seaport or land port.

Vietnam visa costs for Brunei citizens

The costs of Vietnam visa depend on the type of visa they wish to apply for

• Vietnam tourist e-visa: it costs 25usd paid online for the Vietnam Immigration Department and service fee in case you want to use express service for your visa application

• Vietnam visa on arrival: There are two types of fee for visa on arrival which are visa service fee and stamping fee. The stamping fee is 25usd for single entry and 50usd for multiple entry which is valid up 3 months. Regarding to the fee of visa approval letter, please contact us for the precious price.

• Embassy/consulate visa: you are advised to contact the embassy/consulate for more details about their visa charge.
